Sourdough bread is a bread that uses “wild” yeasts and lactobacilli bacteria to preferment and leaven the loaf during the baking process, instead of traditional commercial yeast. These yeasts are found naturally occurring all around us, on the grains we process to make flour, in the air, in the soil, etc. The lactobacilli product lactic acid during the fermentation process, giving sourdough its distinctive sour flavour. Sourdough bread is highly nutritious, and easily digestible.

We are unable to claim that any of our products are certifiably gluten-free, due to the possibility of cross-contamination with wheat products within our small production area.

However, we have a few flourless products that can be enjoyed by those that don’t have a wheat allergy or Celiac disease, including wheat-free treats. These items may still contain trace amounts of wheat/gluten, as they will be mixed and baked in the same equipment as our gluten containing breads, but will use gluten-free flours and ingredients to substitute wheat flour.

All our products will be vegetarian, containing no meat or fish products. While many of our products may contain dairy, eggs, or honey, a number of our products will be vegan including most of our bread products. Please refer to the listed ingredients available on our pre-order page for full product ingredient lists. We don’t have any keto products at the moment.

Yes, our products may contain:

We only use organic flour in our bread and any additions like nuts or seeds are also organic. The sourdough process is a much more hands-on and time consuming process compared to mass producing bread made with commercial yeast. We also pay our team members a living wage.

The best way to store your bread is in a bread box. If you don’t have a bread box, store it unsliced in a plastic bag. You can also store it cut side down on a cutting board with a clean kitchen towel over it, or wrap the cut end in a beeswax food wrap. If you want to freeze your loaf of bread, slice it and put it in a reusable, resealable freezer bag. You can then take slices out as you need and toast them.

We accept cash, debit and credit cards as methods of payment.

Yes! Our drink containers are fully compostable (both lids and cups for hot and cold drinks), and our baked goods packaging is as well. If you are unsure of how to dispose of your packaging waste please confirm with your local municipal waste services guidelines.
