Small Scale Bread is a bakery located downtown Belleville that specializes in sourdough bread and a variety of pastries. We are growing and looking for a part-time Baking Assistant to join our team!

This position is perfect for a recent pastry school grad or someone looking to start their career in the industry. We are looking for someone with a passion for baking who is eager to work as part of a team of like-minded individuals.

Requirements:

* Ability to problem solve and adapt in an ever-changing environment

* Time management

* Attention to detail

* Able to work independently and alongside a team

* A passion for baking, with a natural curiosity and a willingness to learn

* Sociable, with good communication skills

* Minimum 1 year of baking/pastry experience, or a recent pastry school grad

* Able to lift up to 25kgs, comfortable navigating a small workspace

* Food Handler’s/WHMIS/Smart Serve certification would be an asset

Job duties include:

* Scaling ingredients for large recipes

* Mixing and portioning doughs and batters

* Putting final touches on a variety of products

* Maintaining a clean and neat workspace

* Working around possible allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, wheat etc. 

Job Type: Part-time hours, 18-32 hours per week

Schedule: early morning or afternoon shifts (subject to change); weekend availability

Salary: $20.00 per hour, plus tips

Benefits: extended health care after 3 months (for 20+ hours/week)
